There are two types of aurora: the southern aurora, in the southern hemisphere, and the northern aurora, in the northern hemisphere. The latter is known as Aurora Borealis. Aurora was the name of the dawn, and Borealis is a Greek name for the northern winds.

One can see them in different forms and colors. One time you'll see a swirl of colors going through the sky, another one a ray of light going through the space, and sometimes even a giant crack going through the sky. All this in a quiet harmony. It's like watching a symphony ballet with the sound turned off.
